About the piece: The Drowned Lover combines ensemble with audience participation through the use of cell phones. Audience use the Drowned Lover web app to play along with the performers. An "app controller" controls the flow of the app in real time, changing the various performance states. During this reading session, there were about 20-30 people in the audience.

The Drowned Lover is an English folk song with origins in the 17th century. This version uses some parts of the arrangement by Rev. H. F. Sheppard in "Songs of the West: Folk Songs of Devon & Cornwall Collected from the Mouths of the People" (1892)
