Treya Nash - Portfolio
🎶
For the first part of my compositional career, I focused on acoustic chamber music, especially on texture, intonation, and acoustic beating. As I began learning about electronics, I explored these ideas through live processing, and became an avid field recorder. While learning JavaScript, I started making interactive cellphone pieces for audience participation, drawing on my experience with acoustics and digital signal processing and often using my field recordings. I began combining my audience participation and chamber music practice, writing pieces for performers and audience participation with cellphones and objects. Most recently, I wrote, directed, and produced a 40 minute "non-opera", D, Me, You, We, for actor, AI chatbot, musicians, and audience. This portfolio shows some of the different avenues of my work, including my non-opera, my cellphone pieces, and my chamber music.
